Purchasing a Rain Barrel
CRWP has rain barrels available to purchase for $40 plus tax. The rain barrels are 55-gallon recycled plastic barrels, available in both blue and white. Please contact Leslie at 507-786-3915 or leslie@crwp.net to purchase a rain barrel and to arrange delivery/pickup.
CRWP has developed instructions for installing and maintaining your rain barrel and this guide to decorating your rain barrel.
Northfield property owners are eligible for a $20 rebate from the City of Northfield when you purchase and intall a rain barrel. For more information, see the City of Northfield's Stormwater Incentive Page or click here for a rebate application.
Owatonna residents are eligible for a $10 rebate when you purchase and install a rain barrel. For more information click here.
2012 Rain Barrel Workshops
CRWP will be hosting rain barrel building workshops in many cities across the Cannon River Watershed. The cost is $40. Below is a listing of workshops and how to register.
At the rain barrel buildling workshops participants will learn about water conservation and the benefits of rain barrels for water quality and your outdoor watering needs. The first half of the class is a presentation about the effects of runoff on water quality, how rain barrels reduce pollution that reaches our lakes and rivers, and how to install and maintain your rain barrel. During the second half of the class, you will assemble your own 55-gallon plastic rain barrel to take home. We have rain barrels available in both blue and white. Please specify which color you would like when you register.
